Jim Farley teases F-150 Lightning EV performance demonstrator

In December, Ford teased a new EV headed to Europe. The automaker’s normal supervisor for passenger autos throughout the Atlantic teased the Ford EV that will sit on Volkswagen’s MEB system by lifting the a sheet, revealing a slice of the midsize crossover’s still left headlight, bumper and wheel. A week following Ford declared its return to Formula 1 with Pink Bull, Ford CEO Jim Farley’s performed the very same point in Ford’s design studio in Dearborn. The F1 announcement arrived with a shadowed tease of a new overall performance EV demonstrator that looked like a pickup, our guess (and everyone else’s) staying a hotted-up F-150 Lightning. Farley invited Purple Bull reserve driver Daniel Ricciardo to the layout studio to give the Honey Badger a glimpse of what is actually coming, and we get a peek as nicely. This will be no standard Lightning.

You will find a new bumper with two giant intakes over a jutting front lip. And this truck’s likely to be a widebody. The front fenders on the manufacturing Lightning are flush with the edges of the entrance lights, then broaden into flared arches about the front wheels. The EV demonstrator’s front fenders quickly unfold wide about the entrance lights, then widen into even grand wheel arches around a set of race-impressed wheels. That rear wheel arch is definitely not output. And that roll bar in the bed is very likely hiding a handful of far more surprises.

Farley failed to give anything absent further than the image. We can convey to, while, this one’s not likely to be for sale, just like the Mach-E 1400 and Cobra Jet 1400. The electron-powered burnouts, our consolation prize, usually are not considerably absent.
