NHTSA probes 50,000 Tesla Design X vehicles around front seat belt detachment



WASHINGTON — U.S. vehicle security regulators stated Tuesday they are opening a probe into 50,000 Tesla Model X cars following receiving two complaints reporting front seat belt failures.

The National Highway Site visitors Safety Administration (NHTSA) explained the preliminary analysis addresses 2022-2023 product year motor vehicles about stories of failures of the front seat belt to stay related to the seat belt anchor pretensioner when driving. Neither incident associated a collision, NHTSA claimed. 

The two more recent motor vehicles had insufficiently related anchor linkages and neither incident included a automobile collision, NHTSA mentioned. 

In one criticism from Larkspur, California, a Tesla was relocating at all over 10 to 15 miles for every hour and the auto braking method activated when the driver’s door on a big truck parked on the side of the road opened unexpectedly.

“With the unexpected deceleration, my upper body flung ahead and the drive of my excess weight triggered the seat belt anchor on the reduced seat to detach wholly,” a grievance filed with the NHTSA said.

After the NHTSA opens a preliminary evaluation, it have to make a decision whether or not to improve it to an engineering analysis prior to it can need a remember.
