Tesla has issued a recall for its electric powered semi truck about a rollaway threat just a several months right after the Tesla Semi was produced.
The recall impacts 35 trucks, but it is unclear what proportion of the full variety of Tesla Semis on the highway that signifies.
The electric-automobile maker began offering the semi trucks in December. In February, CNBC described that PepsiCo obtained 36 of the 100 electric vans it had purchased and that the company was the first buyer to acquire some of the 100 Tesla Semis it experienced pre-purchased. In January, Tesla issued an end-of-quarter delivery report, but it did not specify the shipping amount for the Tesla Semi.
The National Freeway and Visitors Protection Administration recall impacts vans that ended up manufactured concerning November 30, 2022 and February 28, 2023, in accordance to the report. The NHTSA claimed the parking brake on the motor vehicle could fall short to interact thanks to an air leak, posing a rollaway possibility for the 82,000 pound car or truck. “If the parking brakes are not engaged when the driver expects them to be and the driver releases the company brakes, the auto may possibly unintentionally shift, expanding the chance of crash,” the NHTSA report said.
