Bulford Military Court, Wilts, read the incident took place at Cpl Conway’s barracks in Harrogate, North Yorkshire.

Prosecuting, Jane Carpenter advised the court martial the lady, who cannot be named for authorized factors, had organized to remain in Cpl Conway’s area beforehand and he asked if he could remain there with her.

Describing what transpired when they went to the room after the get together, Ms Carpenter said: ‘Cpl Conway started groping her bottom and she advised him to stop. He did stop. They then spooned prior to going to rest.

‘When he was arrested he reported ‘I know why you are here. I did not even sleep with her’.’
