A grandmother has died soon after she suffered ‘catastrophic’ injuries when the pit bull she had rescued out of the blue turned on her.
Anne Shields, 67, was mauled by the dog, which she named Choccy, at her getaway property in Spain. She had taken him in as a starving stray.
Her daughter informed The Solar that Ms Shields by no means meant to hold the doggy, but the regional animal shelters ended up entire so she opted to treatment for him ‘until she uncovered anyone who could take him.’
The British ex-pat was reportedly an animal lover and ‘couldn’t bear the imagined of throwing Choccy back on the streets.’
