A father-of-a few drowned in a sizzling tub even though on a weekend crack with his family members in Wales, an inquest has listened to. 

Ian Foden, 56, of Liverpool, was located face down in the waters of the tub at a seaside vacation resort in Prestatyn on September 24 last year. 

At a listening to at Ruthin, Katie Sutherland, assistant coroner for North Wales East and Central, explained it as ‘a horrible, awful tragedy’. 

The inquest listened to Mr Foden had appreciated a working day at the seaside and a trip to the pub at the Frith Hotel just before finding into the warm tub with his wife Donna.

But when she bought out and questioned her spouse to be a part of her he mentioned: ‘I can’t’, and stayed in the drinking water.

The hearing was told that about 30 minutes later on family associates went to check out on the engineer, only to uncover him ‘face down’ in the water.

Coroner Ms Sutherland listened to a neighbour helped to pull Mr Foden from the tub, but sadly he could not be saved by CPR.

The listening to was instructed Mr Foden was pronounced useless by medics at about 6.45pm.

A put up-mortem evaluation discovered that he had 237 milligrammes of alcoholic beverages per 100 millilitres of blood, the drink-travel limit remaining 80.

There was also a smaller sum of anti-depressants, but pathologist Dr Mohammad Mehdi claimed that had performed no part.

He gave the lead to of death as drowning, and the coroner recorded a summary of accidental demise.

Mr Foden’s wife Donna informed the hearing her husband’s death ‘has left a massive hole in the life of anyone who loved him’.
