GB Information presenter Isabel Webster was left ‘traumatised’ following her five-year-aged daughter narrowly prevented being hit by a van in the course of a household bicycle journey yesterday. 

The journalist, 40, was savoring a working day out with her husband Liam and younger daughter Poppy when the little girl dropped management of her bicycle on the way house from Richmond Park, south London.

Ms Webster, who co-hosts GB News’ breakfast exhibit with Eamonn Holmes, advised MailOnline that they were likely downhill when the cycle lane stopped and merged with a nation lane.

But ‘time slowed down’ when her daughter, who was in entrance of them, joined the street at the precise second a white van was ‘accelerating’ in direction of Poppy and just about strike her.

Fortunately, Ms Webster’s husband managed to bounce off his bike and launch himself in entrance of the van and transfer Poppy out of the way right before tragedy struck.

Describing the incident, which she reported was ‘every parent’s worst nightmare’, the Tv host stated: ‘It was the most stunning winter’s day yesterday.

‘I experienced dropped my son off at a bushcraft birthday occasion and so my husband and I had a uncommon early morning with my five-calendar year-previous daughter, taking pleasure in time with her on her own.

‘We experienced a wonderful morning, cycling via a park and on the lookout at the deer.

‘We were cycling downhill when there was a pause in the cycle path wherever a highway intersects it.

‘This is when time slowed down. I saw a white van hurtling along, accelerating to Poppy.

‘She was screaming because she could not make the bike halt. I considered, this is going to be really undesirable.

‘I primarily froze. It felt like time experienced stopped but everything happened so rapidly.

‘My husband is a really professional bicycle owner, so he jumped off his bike into the air and released himself in entrance of the van.

She continued: ‘Poppy is only very little, but he managed to get in front of the van and swoop her to one particular aspect.’

Ms Webster said that about 50 % a dozen pedestrians and cars and trucks had stopped and ‘people ended up screaming’ at the gatherings which were being unfolding. 

The incident left the mother-of-two in ‘floods of tears’ but in its place of getting offended with the van driver, she grabbed his hand and thanked him.

‘I was so grateful he didn’t operate her above,’ she claimed.

‘He [the van driver] believed I was heading to be cross due to the fact he was accelerating towards the junction but at the time I did not care, I could have hugged him.

‘I was so content what I believed was likely to materialize did not transpire. It was a incredibly human minute.’

Ms Webster said she was ‘still shaken’ by the in the vicinity of-collision but was ‘eternally grateful’ to her partner for his speedy reaction. 

‘It was just one of individuals moments where by you assume, I’m so near to getting rid of her.

‘Thank God someone was looking at in excess of us yesterday. It was a hair’s breadth absent from tragedy.’

Poppy was  ‘laughing and bonny’ right after the incident but ‘Liam and I are shaken’, she explained.

‘It was every parent’s worst nightmare, I cannot believe how lucky we have been.’
