Anthony Albanese will be the first sitting Australian key minister to march in Sydney’s Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras when he joins the parade for the WorldPride pageant.
The primary minister suggests he will be joined by Foreign Minister Penny Wong, the first brazenly gay lady in parliament, when he usually takes section in the party later in February.
“I’ll be the initial primary minister not to check out the march on Mardi Gras, but to march,” he explained to a crowd at the official opening of Pride Sq. at Newtown, in Sydney’s internal west.
