The relatives of a ‘childlike’ disabled and partly-blind female who was jailed for manslaughter have claimed the choose ‘effectively ignored’ her vulnerabilities when he issued her sentence.

The tragic accident happened as the retired midwife was using her bicycle on a path in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, on Oct 20, 2020.
Online video footage of Grey’s interview with police showed she advised officers ‘I cannot remember’ when pressed for aspects of what transpired all through the incident.
In the footage police officers questioned Grey how Ms Ward ended up in the street.

Grey stated she could not hear what was being reported on the audio.
She was later on questioned to reveal what she had meant by shouting the expletive at Ms Ward, to which she replied: ‘I simply cannot bear in mind.’
Gray was also questioned about why she did not keep to communicate to emergency solutions just after Ms Ward had been hit by the car.
She explained: ‘They weren’t there.’
