A floating cafe in St Petersburg, Russia, has toppled over and sank into an icy river.
The ‘Silver Whale’ cafe, moored on the Neva River, St Petersburg, was pictured on its facet today.
It was ‘flooded’ at about 7.30am due to the fact of hurt caused by the river’s icy conditions. according to Russian officials.
The regional transportation office is now investigating if wellbeing and security polices for the vessel, which was said to be unused, were adopted.
Homeowners of the boat initially preferred to moor it on the Moskva River, Moscow, but the project was not agreed so it was moved to St Petersburg in 2018.
But the cafe never opened and in September 2022 it went up for sale for close to £372,000 or 35million rubles.
