Our Relatives Trip to Copenhagen (With a Big Slide!)

Our Family Trip to Copenhagen (With a Giant Slide!)

This summertime, immediately after being with loved ones in England, the boys and I headed to see mates in Copenhagen. I’d constantly desired to stop by, so we had been fired up to swim in the harbor, go down a big museum slide, and take in alllll the pastries. Here are a couple photos, if you’d like to see…

From the minute we arrived, we understood we have been in a design money: glimpse at these airport carts!

We rented a sweet apartment in Indre By, the historic heart of Copenhagen, so that we’d be capable to wander pretty much all over the place.

And listed here are glamour pictures of the boys going for walks 🙂

Above the up coming few days, we experienced tons of adventures, including braving the 4-story slide in the Danish Architecture Center…

…having a snack at La Banchina, exactly where you can consider a dip in the harbor…

…and stopping by the Guinness Earth Documents Museum to stand future to a everyday living-sized statue of Robert Wadlow, the tallest gentleman in recorded background.

Given that the boys and I were flying solo, I was joyful to comply with their lead, and we ended up likely to Tivoli Gardens two days in a row. The park, which is smack in the middle of the metropolis, has rollercoasters, bumper vehicles, swings, ice product, flowers, grassy lawns, and reclining chairs. I viewed the boys from a bench and in some cases go through my e-book, so we have been all delighted.

On the rollercoaster, the boys had their image taken when shrieking…

So, it designed me giggle to see a snapshot of these cool, reserved Danes.

Our friends told us not to sleep on the pastries, so, each morning, we tried some thing distinctive, like sourdough buns, pastries, and cinnamon buns, which were being abundant but someway also airy?

I preferred how the cafés about city faced their benches outward, so you could individuals enjoy.

And the people viewing was excellent. Over-all, the style seemed to be small, cool, and laid-back again — lots of rain jackets and neutral palettes, and shirts and denims had been normally oversized.

Also, folks rode bikes all over the place — a town following my individual coronary heart! Apparently a lot more than 50 percent of the locals commute to school or operate by bicycle, and we noticed persons driving with several young ones, heels, suitcases, canines, and (previously mentioned) even a mattress.

My beloved night time was when we went to my mate Miriam’s house. You may well try to remember her from her excellent residence tour! We have stayed in touch considering the fact that I interviewed her, and even though this was the initial time we fulfilled in genuine life, I felt like I previously knew her well. The world-wide-web is so unusual/incredible like that.

Isn’t she attractive? When we walked in, I informed her I was amazed that she was generating pizzas in its place of buying them, and she laughed and stated, “I right away regretted it.”

She experienced invited a several pals, including the two women behind the internet site Scandinavian Standard. Absolutely everyone was warm, amusing and pleasant.

Toby clicked with a woman at the evening meal, considering the fact that they cherished conversing about video clip games, pizza, and the correct dates and lengths of their school breaks. All kids are the exact same:)

Also, in case any one was dying of curiosity, below is the solitary picture Anton took in Denmark lol.

We ADORED the metropolis, and it’s constantly a joy to vacation with these two minor stinks! Thank you for obtaining us, Copenhagen! xoxo

A handful of audience asked for suggestions, so with the big caveat that this was my 1st time in Copenhagen, I’m happy to share where we went and the insights we acquired from good friends/locals. Also, in advance of our excursion, I made a Google map of Copenhagen with playgrounds, cafés, retailers, and so on. It is considerably from extensive, but figured I’d connection to it, in situation it’s valuable for anyone.

The place we stayed: an two-bed room airbnb in Indre By. The community is central and touristy, but the apartment was on a tranquil avenue.

Where by to get pastries: Hart, Lille, Apotek 57 and Atelier September feel like hot spots, but mainly every café crushes it.

Exactly where to eat: Casamadre, Apollo Bar, Mangia and Pauli ended up advisable by mates. La Banchina is a extremely great scene for snacks, espresso and drinks. (We went to a further properly-reviewed Italian put and it was not superior — the provider was sluggish and cold, and there was plastic in our food stuff!). And, we beloved the burgers at Gasoline Grill they promote out every single day, so go for lunch or an early meal.

The place to store: Shrig Store, Holly Golightly, Ganni (this apparel retail outlet nails that great-woman Danish aesthetic), Rains (you see their rain jackets everywhere you go), Studio Arhoj, Stilleben No. 22, Dora, Dansk Made for Rooms

Wherever to museum: Louisiana Museum of Fashionable Artwork (this is a working day journey outside the metropolis but it appears to be like genuinely amazing, I would like we’d had time), Finn Juhl Residence

Wherever to go with young ones: Tivoli Gardens, Guinness World Data Museum (tbh, it is just all right, but my young ones still cherished it), the Danish Architecture Centre (don’t skip the big slide), Gasoline Grill, and each individual solitary café!

What would you add? And if you are a neighborhood, do you have any insider tips? I’d be thrilled to hear… xoxoxo
