Garry Marr, the chief Canada correspondent for CoStar News, is being honored by North America’s largest financial journalist organization with its outstanding achievement award for his significant impact on Canadian business journalism.
Marr, based in Toronto, received the honor from the Society for Advancing Business Editing and Writing in recognition for his decades of breaking news, explaining economic and corporate trends to business and general interest readers and nurturing others in the profession. While at the National Post, his byline was carried in publications across the country. At CoStar, his stories not only appear in Canada, but also in the United States and Europe.
In the past year alone, Marr’s work has included stories on the international challenges of Toronto architects working in the United States in the pandemic, the reluctant embrace of remote work by commercial real estate brokers representing office building owners and his First Job profiles of CEOs in which they candidly discuss their often-modest beginnings in reports that give a face to corporations across Canada.
Marr writes about Canadian commercial property for CoStar News, an international news organization that specializes in the coverage of commercial real estate in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom. CoStar News is published by CoStar Group, the largest provider of commercial real estate information.
