Retail Sales Fall for Second-Consecutive Month


Retail sales fell for the second consecutive month in March, as consumers continued to shy away from both large and discretionary purchases in the face of higher interest rates and rising debt levels. Overall, retail sales declined by 1% month over month, dropping the annual growth in retail sales to just 2.9%, the lowest level recorded since the depths of the pandemic.
