Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsdale was in awe of a sporting Pope, but this time it wasn’t his England goalkeeping teammate.
Instead of being impressed by Newcastle’s Nick, it was England cricket’s Ollie who left the star Gunner buzzing with a record breaking maiden Test double hundred.

The 25-year-old Arsenal fan ended day two against Ireland at Lord’s with 205 from 208 balls for the fastest Test double ever made in England.
The team assailed to 524-4 declared and only took 80 overs to pass the 500 mark, becoming the second-quickest to do so in Test history.
Joe Root also notched a 56 in a day where relative novices Ireland could only hold on for a third day.
It may work as the perfect morale boost ahead of the start of the Ashes on June 16.

The only downside was that such was England’s dominance, Ben Stokes, Harry Brook and Jonny Bairstow were all left short of time at the crease ahead of facing Australia.
But for the audience at Lord’s, including one certain England goalkeeper, it was pure joy in the Thursday sun.
Ramsdale posted a clip of Pope’s heroics on his Instagram and wrote: “@opope32 delivered” and added a love heart.
He then raised a glass to Pope and Ben Duckett, before adding: “200 up let’s go!”
