Buffalo Bills star Nyheim Hines to miss entire 2023 season after jet ski accident

Buffalo Bills’ running back, Nyheim Hines, is out for the 2023 campaign after a jet ski accident left him seriously injured.

The Bills kick-off their NFL training camp on Wednesday, but will be without their talented reserve.

Whilst Hines’ injuries are not deemed life-threatening, the 26-year-old is ruled out of the upcoming season.

According to NFL Media, Hines is understood to have damaged his knee while sitting stationary on the jet ski, with his injuries requiring surgery.

Hines was signed by the Bills lasy summer, acquired on last year’s in-season trade deadline.

He had been expected to at least serve as the team’s top kick and punt returner.

A former change-of-pace back with the Indianapolis Colts, he would’ve also offered experience as a secondary pass catcher.

Hines ended last campaign with a career-best 707 combined return yards.

He joined the Bills in a swap deal involving former backup right-back Zack Moss and a conditional late-round draft pick in November.

Two veterans in free agents Damien Harris and Latavius Murray were previously drafted in, and are expected to play key roles in Hines’ absence.

James Cook, a second-year back, is also expected to feature more having been third in the pecking order last campaign.
