The 26-year-old currently plays for Empoli where he has impressed since joining last summer, making 32 appearances this term.
As well as securing a 14th place finish in Serie A, Vicario put in a number of excellent individual displays to attract admiring glances from the Premier League.
His fine form also saw him called up to the Italian national team, where he was part of the squad that finished third in the Nations League.
Tottenham had been linked with a move for Brentford goalkeeper David Raya, however that move appears to have gone cold.

This could be down to the Bees’ £40million asking price, a fee that Spurs are unwilling to pay.
The need for a new goalkeeper is particularly high, with Hugo Lloris admitting that he’s keen for a new challenge after 11 years at the club.
The Frenchman told Nice-Matin: “We are coming to an important moment, whether for the club or for me.
“It’s the end of an era. I have desires for other things, I will ask myself quietly to study what will be possible.

“But I don’t forget that I still have a year of contract with Tottenham and that in football it is always difficult to predict what will happen.
“What is essential at the moment is to recover well from my injury. I’m on vacation, but I continue to talk and do my training.
“My goal is to be on top in July, then we’ll see what the future holds for me.”
