Liverpool will reportedly miss out on £7.5million in bonuses once Sadio Mane joins Al Nassr from Bayern Munich.

The 31-year-old is believed to be closing in on a deal to sign for the Saudi Pro League side to link up with Cristiano Ronaldo in the Gulf nation.

Mane only made the move from Anfield to the Allianz Arena last summer in a deal rising to £35million.

But he failed to live up to his high expectations in Bavaria despite winning the German top-flight title – scoring just seven Bundesliga goals.

And Bayern are now set to offload him for around £30m – which will come as a blow to Jurgen Klopp’s side.

According to the Daily Mail, Bayern only paid Liverpool an upfront fee of £27.5m.

The remaining £7.5m was to be paid if the Senegal international met the requirements of certain performance based add-ons.

However those will not be met as Mane will be calling a premature time to his spell in Germany – despite penning a three-year deal.

His Bayern teammate Joshua Kimmich believes Mane, who was suspended in April for punching Leroy Sane, has been harshly singled out in what was a frustrating season for Bayern.

He told BILD: “He played a very good first half of the season last season and had good stats.

“It wasn’t his fault alone that things weren’t going well for us. The big picture was not good for us.

“You are a new player abroad – with a new language, new culture and new people.

“When you join as a top star and have to listen to a lot of criticism – some rightly, some wrongly – I can imagine it’s not easy.”
