Erik ten Hag hailed Manchester United’s victory over Nottingham Forest after admitting they ‘f***** up’ against Sevilla midweek.
The Red Devils secured a 2-0 victory at the City Ground to move them up to third in the table, strengthening their hopes of a top four finish this season.

The result was much-needed after United let a two-goal lead slip against Sevilla in the Europa League midweek, meaning that they take a 2-2 draw into the second leg of the quarter-final tie this week.
With confidence now restored in the camp, Ten Hag was full of praise for his side’s performance against Forest and says that he hopes his team have learned lessons from Thursday night.
Speaking after the game, he said: “I think it was a very solid performance. From start to finish, everyone really concentrated, we conceded no chances except some from set pieces.
“There were no transition moments, we didn’t allow them anything and we created a lot.
“We scored two great goals – the only thing if I wanted to criticise my team would be to score more goals because we created so much.”
Asked about how important it was to strengthen their grip on a top four finish, Ten Hag said: “Of course we talked about that but it’s more important to talk about your game plan.

“How do you win the game? Focus on the process of this game to win the game and I think everybody knows how important mentally it is to get a win today. When you get the points today they’re much more valuable than at the start of the season.
“This weekend was a good weekend but you have to stay focused and bring it every game because there are no easy games in the Premier League.”
Ten Hag added: “We go from game to game, so today we took one step in the Premier League and now we have to focus on the next game and we have to bring another performance.
“We f***** it up on Thursday so now we know how we have to come back. We made mistakes and we can’t make them and now we go to Seville and have to do a great performance to win there.”
