Putting Leeds above Everton

The Yorkshire side are fighting to avoid relegation back to the Championship and three points will see them go ahead of fourth-from-bottom Everton.

And Rodrigo, who had missed a glorious chance earlier on in the game, gave the travelling Leeds fans their wish as he volleyed his side ahead straight from a throw in.

The Leeds star has now scored and assisted 14 Premier League goals this season, as many as Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes and Liverpool’s Roberto Firmino.

Sam Allardyce’s side went one point above the relegation zone, with Rodrigo’s goal seeing Everton sink into the bottom three.

However Rice then led the blue side of Merseyside breathe a sigh of relief as he converted a glorious assist from Jarrod Bowen to put Leeds back in the drop zone.
