Tottenham’s different shirt sponsor for Manchester United clash explained


Tottenham are playing host to Manchester United in a huge Premier League top four clash.

United sit 4th in the league and have two games in hand over the north London side who are 7th.

Spurs displayed a different shirt sponsor to normal

Spurs have come into the match off the back of their 6-1 defeat to Newcastle, with United playing four days after their FA Cup semi-final win against Brighton.

Ryan Mason’s side are playing at home so have donned their first strip, but it features a different sponsor than normal.

Spurs are sponsored by AIA, which remains on the front of their kits, but this time with an extra design for a special reason.

Before the the match, the club tweeted: “Our players will wear special edition charity shirts for tonight’s match against Manchester United, raising awareness and funds for an initiative supporting the education of children in rural China.”

Spurs need to win to keep their hopes of Champions League qualification alive.

Victory for United would all but secure their spot in the prestigious competition next season.
